Cars named after coffee

Kei cars is a classification of cars in Japan that feature engines 660 cc or lower. At first glance, this may feel like it's just not enough power, until you realize the cars are anywhere from 2 to 3 times lighter than traditional North American vehicles.

Sexy car names like Mustang, cobra, and.. lest we forget the Hyundai Pony, are all animal themed.

So it wouldn't be a far stretch of the imagination to find out that cars in Japan are also named after espresso drinks.

Two examples today are the Suzuki Cappuccino (left) and Daihatsu Cocoa (right)

There are several other ones as well in The ether, such as the "Move LATTE"

There is an entire untapped world of micro vehicles that exist in japan, and most auto reviewers barely scratch the surface.

However that's where we come in. Showing you both sides of the Pacific ocean, what really goes down when it comes to Kei cars.
